Historic Houses Association

Holkham Hall is a member of the Historic Houses Association. Formed in 1973, the HHA exists to provide practical advice and support to the owners of around 1500 important historic properties in private ownership. These houses range from the great palaces to small manor houses and most remain lived-in family homes. As important are the contents, works of art and the gardens and designed landscapes which surround theses houses. Lord Leicester is the vice patron of the HHA.

The opportunity to join the Friends of the Historic Houses Association is available at Holkham, as we are one of a limited number of enrolling properties. By becoming a Friend and supporting the work of the HHA, in return your membership offers many benefits including free access during normal opening time to nearly 300 individual houses, castles and garden and the HHA’s quarterly magazine and enjoy many benefits. Further information is available from our Ticket Office or to join online visit the HHA.
