The Victoria
The Victoria is a 4 star hotel ideally situated moments from the golden sands of Holkham beach and at the gates of Holkham Park – a perfect location to discover Norfolk’s windswept coastline, seaside towns and spectacular wildlife.
We have twenty individually decorated rooms across two historical buildings. Our rooms range from snug doubles to large luxury suites, and we welcome dogs in our rooms in the main building (including the restaurant).

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do here at The Victoria, from heating the building with woodchip from Holkham Estate, to closing the loop on compostables. In 2016, we received a Gold Green Tourism Award and we continue to keep sustainability at the core of our business through our action plan, WONDER.
Our proudest achievement, and arguably our main attraction, is the food we serve in our restaurant, for which we received two AA Rosettes in 2023. Head Chef Michael Chamberlain works with local producers to create delicious menus based on the three key principles of fresh, local, and seasonal.

Shepherd huts
There’s a new way to stay with us at The Vic.
We are thrilled to share the news that we have four new, self-catering shepherd huts overlooking the meadow in Holkham Village.
Nestled between the sweeping sands of Holkham Beach and Holkham Hall’s expansive parkland, the huts each sleep two people and up to two dogs.
We are looking forward to welcoming our first guests.

Dining
The Victoria’s carefully curated menu showcases the very best locally sourced ingredients. The quality of our ingredients is paramount, whether it be fish, shellfish or samphire from the North Norfolk coast, beef from our farms, lamb or pork from one of our farm tenants or vegetables from Holkham’s Walled Garden. In the winter, we serve wild game from the family shoot and venison from the estate’s herd of Fallow Deer.
Our orangery offers magnificent views over the Holkham National Nature Reserve, while our restaurant provides a cosier feel where, in the cooler months, you can warm up by our log fire.
Our restaurant is open for lunch and dinner to all. We do recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment by calling us on 01328 711008 or using the booking buttons.
Hotel rooms
Our 20 hotel rooms are split across two buildings, the main Victoria building and Ancient House, just opposite. We offer double and twin rooms, as well as larger options suited to families with lounge areas and additional beds.
Dogs are welcome in The Victoria’s main building, including the 10 bedrooms here and the restaurant, and must be kept on leads at all times please. Ancient House is reserved solely for humans!

Hire a beach hut
Enjoy the luxury of your very own beach hut on Wells Beach, providing shelter for sunny days (or the not so sunny ones!).
Take in the views out to sea while basking and relaxing on the beach hut deck, store your beach bags inside while you go for a splash in the sea.
Beach huts are bookable through Pinewoods Holiday Park. Call their reception team on 01328 710439 to book yours.
Sustainability: WONDER
The Victoria is committed to being environmentally and ethically responsible, in line with Holkham’s WONDER strategy. In 2016, we received a Gold Green Tourism Award, and award we have received again in 2024. Below are a few examples of how we keep sustainability at the core of our business operations:
We heat the hotel from a biomass boiler fuelled exclusively by Holkham woodchip to heat the hotel: the woodland is certified under the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS).
Our LED lights are powered by certified renewable energy sources. Our gardens support biodiversity with native, pollinator-friendly plants.
Wherever possible, our ingredients come from local suppliers within a 50-mile radius. Many come from the estate itself, including venison, beef, lamb and vegetables.
Our food, plant waste and compostable packaging is composted, forming a nutrient-rich compost used in the Walled Garden.
We have four EV chargers here at The Victoria for guests to use.
