Christmas events at Holkham, North Norfolk
Holkham by Candlelight

Perhaps one of Norfolk’s most popular Christmas events, join us for Christmas at Holkham Hall for an unforgettable festive experience. Explore the rooms at your own pace or if you would prefer, we have a guided visit available. Find out more or book your visit.
Festive Family Day
19th and 20th December
Perfect for Christmas lovers big and small – our festive family day might be exactly what you’re looking for. Explore the magical state rooms but keep your eyes peeled; Father and Mother Christmas and their wonderfully wacky jingle-elves will be joining the festivities too! Find out more or book your visit!
Christmas Market
11th, 12th, 13th December
Perfect for Christmas shopping or treats for yourself, our market will see over 60 local producers showcasing the very best seasonal food, drink and gifts Norfolk has to offer. Audience with Father Christmas
21st and 22nd December
Bring your little ones to the most magical Father Christmas experience in North Norfolk. Guided by the mischievous Jingle Elves explore the Hall all decked for Christmas and meet the big man himself!
Christmas Shopping evenings
We’ll be welcoming special guests to the Gift Shop over the wintery weekends for a variety of excellent evenings, including book signings, gin tastings and bauble unveilings to name a few. Dates and details coming soon!
Christmas Workshops
4th, 14th, 18th December
Block printing workshop – a handmade Christmas
Join us on the 4th December to give your gifts a personal touch with a block printing workshop. You’ll learn how to use a collection of traditional, hand-carved Indian wooden printing blocks before designing your own set of six fabulous Christmas crackers.
Christmas calligraphy workshop
Discover the beautiful contemporary style of handwriting with Clare on the 14th December. Immerse yourself into the intricate art of calligraphy as you learn to create elegant letterforms with confidence and come away with a newfound skill.
Floragami paper flower workshop
Bring your creativity and enthusiasm on the 18th December and learn how to create a festive favourite, Poinsettia potted plants. Using Floragami’s signature hand-dyed papers, Meg will guide you through every step of the intricate process, so come along to create a sustainable, delicate decoration.
Holkham by Candlelight – Twixmas
27th, 28th, 29th, 30th December
The magic continues after Christmas too! Make the most of those in-betweeny days and come and soak up the last of the Christmas magic on a Twixmas visit to Holkham by Candlelight.

Our wonderful range of Christmas events in Norfolk begin from 29th November and run through to 30th December, so there’s plenty of time to get into the festive spirit with us here at Holkham.
The Hall, fabulously decorated for the season, will open its doors on 29th November and is open on several dates for self-led tours, guided tours and Twixmas visits.
Our Christmas Market runs from 11th-13th December.
Oh, so many! We’re known far and wide for Holkham Hall by Candlelight, as seen on Channel 4, where you can explore and be wowed by the state rooms dressed in their festive finery. What wonders will the team have created this year?!
Bring your little ones along to our Festive Family Day in the Hall, or to a very special Audience with Father Christmas.
Our three-day Christmas Market is a popular choice in the Norfolk Christmas events calendar.
There’s also three carol services (including one for your dogs!) and several festive and winter themed art and craft workshops.
We strongly recommend booking tickets to Holkham Hall by Candlelight, an Audience with Father Christmas, our Festive Family Day and our art and craft workshops.
You do not need to book for the Christmas Market or our carol services.
We have a whole range of events taking place throughout December, many of which are suitable for children.
Created especially for youngsters are our Festive Family Day in Holkham Hall and An Audience with Father Christmas.
You and your family might also enjoy Carols in the Courtyard, or bring the furry family members along for a howl at Canine Carols! The Christmas Market is also a fun family day out, with food trucks and live music in addition to the stall hopping and shopping!

Our main visitor car park will be the place to aim for, unless your booking confirmation states something different. Check car park opening times and directions here.
Our Christmas Market weekend is very popular, so there will be plenty of additional parking available. Our car parking team will help you find a spot.

Of course! The Courtyard gift shop will be full of festive delights, including decorations inspired by the Hall, foodie treats for your Christmas events at home, and pressies aplenty, so make sure you pop in for a browse.
The Courtyard Café offers a range of delicious hot and cold food and drinks.
If you’re heading out of the park, enjoy a bite to eat at The Lookout near Holkham Beach, Wells Beach Café near Wells Beach, or wine and dine at The Victoria’s AA Rosette awarded restaurant (open for lunch and dinner, booking recommended).
With so much going on at Holkham this Christmas, plus the beautiful surroundings to explore too, staying a night or two is a wonderful idea!
