Block printing workshop – a handmade Christmas

Christmas Cracker and Gift-Wrap Block Printing Workshop at Holkham

Give your Christmas table and gifts a personal touch with a half-day block printing workshop here at Holkham.

Working with a collection of traditional, hand-carved Indian wooden printing blocks, you’ll learn how to create your own printed designs before making six individual Christmas crackers, plus coordinating gift wrap, tissue paper and gift tags. It’s a chance to make something uniquely yours, with plenty of room to experiment with colour and pattern along the way.

You don’t need any previous block printing experience. We’ll have everything ready for you, including the cracker hats, snaps and, of course, a selection of terrible Christmas jokes. All you need to bring are six small gifts or treats for your crackers, although you can just as easily fill them at home.

There’ll be tea, coffee and mince pies to enjoy along the way.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with six hand-printed Christmas crackers, your own gift wrap, tissue paper and gift tags, plus the know-how to carry on block printing at home. Additional cracker kits will be available to purchase on the day.

Join us for a morning of printing, patterns and festive treats and leave with your own handmade collection ready for Christmas.

If you have any questions before the workshop, please contact artist and workshop leader, Sue, directly at sue.welfare@gmail.com.
