Rooms at The Victoria
Ten of The Victoria’s twenty bedrooms are located in the main building at The Vic. Here you will find double and twin rooms, alongside a deluxe attic room and an accessible ground floor bedroom too. We welcome dogs in the bedrooms within this building (at an additional charge of £10 per dog per night), as well as in our dining areas, so if you’re joining us for a holiday, there’s no need to leave your furry friend behind.
Room 1 – Hare Clump
This deluxe double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and offers views of the Holkham National Nature Reserve. A large, light, and airy room, Hare Clump is perfect for those that desire a little more space, providing a comfortable king-sized bed, a seating area from which to admire the views, and room for an extra z bed or cot if required. The interconnecting door can be opened to Room 2, making this a perfect option for families. Hare Clump can also be made into a twin room on request and the bathroom offers a bath with overhead shower. In addition, this bedroom is dog friendly and suitable for four-legged friends of all sizes.
Room 2 – Tutsia Clump
This deluxe double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and provides the comfort of a king-sized bed, a seating area in which to spend an afternoon relaxing, and additional space for a z bed or cot if required. A large, bright, bedroom, Tutsia Clump is also dog friendly and is perfect for all sizes of four-legged friends. The interconnecting door can be opened to Room 1, making this a perfect option for families. Tutsia Clump can also be made into a twin room on request and the bathroom offers a bath with overhead shower.
Room 3 – Honk’s Pit
This snug room is the smallest in our hotel and is perfect for solo travellers, or those who have packed lightly. Located on the first floor of the main hotel, this light room overlooks the courtyard and provides a comfortable double bed and ensuite featuring a walk-in shower. This bedroom can be interconnected with Room 4, making this a great option for families. In addition, it is dog friendly, though due to its size it is better suited to Chihuahuas than Great Danes.
Room 4 – Crabbe Castle Pit
This classic double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and features a comfortable king-sized bed, courtyard views, an armchair to recline in at your leisure, and an ensuite with bath and over-head shower. A dog-friendly bedroom that is suitable for all types of furry friends, Crabbe Castle Pit can also interconnect with Room 3 making it a great choice for families.
Room 5 – Scarborough
This classic double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and offers picturesque views of the Holkham National Nature Reserve. A light room perfect for those wishing to relax and take in the beautiful natural surroundings, it offers a comfortable king-sized bed and an armchair from which to enjoy the views, while the bathroom offers a bath with overhead shower. Scarborough is a dog friendly bedroom and is a suitable size for all types of furry friends.
Room 6 – Water Mire
This classic double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and boasts wonderful views of the Holkham National Nature Reserve. A perfect room for those wanting a peaceful space it offers a comfortable king-sized bed and an armchair providing you a relaxing spot to enjoy the views. Water Mire offers a large bathroom where you can enjoy both a walk-in shower and a relaxing soak in a freestanding bath. This bedroom is also dog friendly, though due to the floor space it would be better suited to those with smaller four-legged friends.
Room 7 – Mouse Hill
This cosy double room is located on the first floor of the main hotel and overlooks the Orangery rooftop and into the woods beyond. It provides a comfortable king-sized bed, and the light and airy bathroom features a bath with overhead shower. In addition, Mouse Hill is a dog-friendly bedroom suitable for all types of four-legged friends.
Room 8 – Blunt’s Corner
This classic double room is located on the ground floor in the courtyard of the main hotel and features a comfortable king-sized bed. Located a few steps down from our car park and accessible through our courtyard, this bedroom is perfect for those with additional mobility requirements as it features a stand-alone shower, toilet with handrails, and a lowered sink. It also contains a separate bath and shower seat upon request. In addition, this bedroom is a dog-friendly room suitable for all shapes and sizes of pooches.
Room 9 – Hanging Fallow
This deluxe double is in the attic on the second floor of the main hotel and provides a calm and secluded space perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Sloping ceilings on roof rafters provide a cosy feel (with the lowest vertical wall being 80cm high) and the room features a comfortable double bed with space for an additional z bed or cot if required. The spacious and light bathroom contains a stand-alone shower and the opportunity to have a relaxing soak in a freestanding bath. Hanging Fallow is a dog-friendly bedroom but due to the steep stairs may not be suitable for older four-legged friends.
Room 10 – Joe’s Stop
This deluxe double is located in the attic on the second floor of the main hotel and features sloped ceiling on roof rafters, with the lowest vertical wall being 80cm high. A large two room bedroom featuring two bathrooms, Joe’s Stop is perfect for families. The main bedroom provides a comfortable king-sized bed and an ensuite containing a bath. The adjacent bedroom features a single bed, with space for a z bed if required and is located opposite a large bathroom containing a stand-alone bath and separate walk-in shower. Although this is a dog-friendly room, due to the steep stairs it may not be suitable for older or less able furry friends.
Rooms in Ancient House
The remaining ten bedrooms are found in Ancient House, a building located opposite The Vic, just 80 metres away. Guests staying here can relax in the peaceful, private walled rose garden, while also enjoying the benefits of wining and dining in the main hotel. Ancient House makes the ideal setting for a special get-together, and can be reserved in its entirety for weddings and special occasions. Unfortunately dogs are not able to stay in the Ancient House bedrooms.
Room 11 – Bush Close
This luxury suite located on the ground floor of Ancient House is perfect for anyone looking for something extra special. A bright and airy bedroom featuring large windows offering peaceful views of the front and rear garden, Bush Close provides a comfortable king-sized bed and ample floor space for two cots or z beds if required. There is a separate seating area providing armchairs and a comfortable sofa which can be converted into a sofa bed, or used for lounging away the afternoon with a good book. The bathroom benefits from a bath and luxurious walk-in shower. Bush Close is a stunning suite perfect as a bridal room, for a special occasion, or for families. Room 12 – Waterden
This classic double room is located on the ground floor of Ancient House and overlooks the rear garden. The room features a comfortable king-sized bed and a seating area from which to relax and enjoy the view. Waterden can also be made into a twin room on request, and the bathroom features a bath with overhead shower. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. Room 13 – Cow Planting
This classic double room is located on the ground floor of Ancient House, though is accessed by one step leading down to the bedroom door and looks out of the front of the building. The bedroom benefits from a comfortable king-sized bed, a seating area and can also be made into a twin room upon request. The bathroom features a bath with overhead shower. Room 14 – Wilbrahams
This luxury suite provides something extra special to your stay and is perfect for those looking to really make themselves feel at home. Split across two levels, Wilbrahams offers a downstairs living room area featuring a comfortable sofa, which can also be made into a sofa bed, and armchairs. There is also a toilet and wash basin downstairs. Upstairs is a large spacious bedroom with a view of The Victoria. The room offers a king-sized bed and a light and airy ensuite where you can enjoy a walk-in shower or a soak in the freestanding bath. Due to the generous size of this room, there is the possibility for an extra cot or z bed if required making it a fantastic choice for a family. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. Room 15 – Dale Hole
This cosy double room is located on the ground floor of Ancient House and offers views of the rear garden. The bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed while the bathroom contains a bath with overhead shower. Dale Hole is perfect for those looking for a cosy and quiet getaway. Room 16 – Lime Kiln
This luxury suite provides ample space and is perfect for those looking for something a little different. Split across two levels, Lime Kiln offers a ground floor, accessed by one step leading to the bedroom door, bedroom with views of the front garden and a comfortable king-sized bed. This room can also be made into a twin room upon request. The ensuite contains a freestanding bath and walk-in shower while upstairs are armchairs and a comfortable sofa, which can be made into a sofa bed, or used for relaxing and watching the Smart TV in the evening. Room 17 – Fushia
This deluxe double room is located on the ground floor of Ancient House and is one of the most historical rooms at The Victoria. The beautiful bakery bread oven from 1810 still remains in this room, now used as a unique feature. The bedroom features an entrance hallway with two steps leading to a comfortable king-sized bed and seating area. This spacious room also provides the opportunity for a cot or z bed if required. The bathroom contains a bath with overhead shower and a large walk-in shower. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. Room 18 – Pistol Club
This classic double room is located on the ground floor of Ancient House and looks over the rear garden. The bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed, while the bathroom offers a bath with shower overhead. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. Room 19 – Emmerdale
This luxury suite adds something a little extra to your stay and offers a sense of feeling right at home. Emmerdale is located on the first floor of Ancient House with the bedroom offering lovely views of The Victoria. It also features a comfortable king-sized bed, with the large ensuite providing the opportunity to enjoy the walk-in shower or have a luxurious soak in a freestanding bath. This apartment-like suite also features a lounge area, providing two armchairs and a comfortable sofa, which can be made into a sofa bed, or used to relax and watch the TV after a day of exploring the local area. This bedroom is perfect for those looking to kick back, relax, and really feel at home. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. Room 20 – Bones Belt
This deluxe double room is located on the first floor of Ancient House and has views over the rear garden. The spacious bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed and an armchair from which to enjoy the view, while the large, light bathroom provides the choice of enjoying the walk-in shower or a soak in the freestanding bath. Bones Belt is a perfect room for those looking for a double room with plenty of space and privacy. Please note that this room does not allow dogs. We’re a dog friendly hotel!
Ten of our rooms – those in The Victoria’s main building – are dog friendly. And when we say that, we really mean it!
With beds as comfy as your own and delicious doggy treats, your pooch will be totally spoiled. At just £10 per dog per night, bring your furry friend(s) along for the holiday – there’s so many wonderful dog walks just waiting to be enjoyed.

Rates differ depending on the season, the size of the room and the number of guests staying. Rooms vary from our snug size to our suites.

Three day Holkham Experience Break
With Holkham Park just five minutes’ walk away and Holkham Hall a 15-minute stroll, a visit to all the attractions is a must when you stay at The Victoria.
Visit them for free with our ‘Holkham Experience Break’, available until 31st October.
Stay for three nights or more in a classic or deluxe room and you’ll enjoy dinner, bed and breakfast plus complimentary entry to Holkham Hall (open Monday, Thursday and Sunday), Holkham Stories and the Walled Garden for £330 per night (based on two sharing).

Garden Experience
History and horticulture lovers can take in the beauty of Holkham’s gardens in this two night stay, including dinner, bed and breakfast in the best available room at the time of booking.
After a relaxing first night at The Vic, you’ll be collected by one of Holkham’s senior gardeners and driven to the Walled Garden for a 3-4 hour tour. You’ll learn about its past, discover the recently restored Samuel Wyatt Vinery and six garden rooms, including the kitchen garden which provides fruit and vegetables to The Victoria’s restaurant and Holkham Hall. Subject to your dates, you may be able to view one of the private gardens too. Then, tuck into Head Chef Michael’s Walled Garden carrot cake with the gardeners while discussing the tricks of the trade! Get ‘hands on’ if you wish, and take a garden gift home. You’ll then be driven around the Park to take in the views, with a final stop at the Courtyard Gift Shop where you can collect a complementary bottle of wine made using Walled Garden grapes by Burn Valley Vineyard.

Goose Flight Safari
Enjoy two nights dinner, bed and breakfast at The Victoria, plus a dawn and dusk goose flight safari on the Holkham National Nature Reserve with one of Holkham’s nature wardens.
Shortly before sunrise on your first morning, you will be collected from The Victoria by one of the nature reserve wardens and head to observe the dawn flight of thousands of geese.
Over breakfast at The Victoria, the warden will answer questions about the reserve and advise on the best bird watching spots.
The day is then your own to further explore the reserve, Holkham Park or further afield, or simply relax at The Victoria.
An hour before sunset, you will again be collected from the hotel to enjoy the dusk goose flight. You’ll then enjoy a delicious dinner before heading to bed, perhaps to dream about geese, big skies and beautiful Holkham.

Conservation Experience
You’ll enjoy breakfast at The Victoria with a nature reserve warden, during which you’ll hear all about the plans for the day!
You’ll then head out for an active day on the reserve with your warden, learning more about the fantastic conservation work they do. A substantial packed lunch will be provided.
Around 4pm, you’ll return to The Victoria for a refreshing drink with your warden, before relaxing.
Subject to his availability, Head of Conservation Jake Fiennes may join you at to explain the wider landscape initiatives at Holkham and his work in driving forward land management improvements country wide for the benefit of nature.

Cosy Stays Offer
If autumn is your favourite time to take a break, our cosy stays offer is perfect for you. Book before the 12th October and you can look forward to relaxing in the best available classic or deluxe bedroom available and dining from our delicious new autumn menu. The offer is valid for stays of two nights or more between 22nd September and 21st December.

An Evening with Jake Fiennes
We are thrilled to launch this exclusive event with Holkham’s Head of Conservation and author of Land Healer, Jake Fiennes, on 6th-7th March 2025. This is the perfect experience for anyone fascinated with conservation, wildlife, and the ideas and work of one of the leading conservationist of our time.
You will be free to check in from 3pm and explore a little of what Holkham has to offer before getting ready for a very special evening. Together with Jake, you will enjoy canapés, wines and a seven-course taster menu he has personally curated together with our head chef, Michael Chamberlain. Expect dishes celebrating the very best local and seasonal produce of North Norfolk. After dinner, Jake will speak about his life’s work and vision for the future, before answering your questions.
After a good night’s rest and a hearty breakfast, you will be free to explore the reserve, Holkham Park and the estate’s myriad of footpaths and cycleways… bringing to life the landscape that Jake will have no doubt talked passionately about the evening before. Or alternatively, relish the luxury of a lie-in reading Land Healer!

WONDER Stays – with dinner on us
One of the three key objectives of WONDER (Holkham’s sustainability strategy) is to champion low carbon living. In support of this, we are encouraging our guests to come to the Victoria on public transport, as we are just a two minute walk from the Coastliner bus stop. This route connecting Kings Lynn to Fakenham, is perfect for sightseeing, travelling through the beautiful villages and landscapes of North Norfolk – it is frequently referred to as East Anglia’s most scenic bus route!
Book a three night, bed and breakfast stay and travel to us by public transport and we’ll give you a complimentary dinner on your first night. You’ll just need to provide evidence of your journey from home to Holkham on public transport when you check in. Valid for stays before the 31st December.

Wedding packages

In-room massages
We work with an external massage therapist, Annette from North Norfolk Natural Therapy, to offer in-room massages during your stay.
Annette will set up a massage table within your room, and offers a range of options including full body massage, back, neck and shoulder massage and Indian head massage.
Please note that due to its cosy size, Room 3 cannot accommodate massages.
