What’s on

The festival of little stories

This February half term we are celebrating all things books!

Join us for some fun book related activities including storytelling, local author meet and greets, illustration workshops and a fun story trail around the Park. The Norfolk Children’s Book Centre pop-up shop will be with us for the festival duration too for all the book bugs out there – perfect for gifting or treating your little ones to a new favourite bedtime story.

Book-related fun this way comes…

The Little Story Trail

Can you solve the cryptic clues and see which books are revealed? Come and collect your prize from Visitor Reception.

Author talks and storytelling

Immerse yourselves in the magic of story telling as the tales are brought to life by Isabelle King who will read her books of medieval magic and fables of fantasy (they’ll be a chance to get your book signed and get crafty too!), James Mayhew who will create incredible art to music as you watch in wonder. Settle down and be transported to life on a lighthouse during WW2 on a session with local author Kate Cleaver. Dave Tonge, The Yarnsmith will be sharing stories of Norfolk folklore taken from his book of Norfolk Folktales for Children too! Andrew Otterburn will be reading ‘Crab School’, the latest in his series of stories about Herbert the Crab and his friends – all set on the North Norfolk coast.

Illustration workshops

Choose from two wonderful illustration workshops lead by  Charli Vince or Peter Kavanagh. Charli will show you how to draw some of their most popular characters and give your children the chance to draw a character of their own with her prompts and guidance and Peter will show you how to draw animals in action with great poses and fun expressions too!
