What’s on

The Golden Shed

As part of his artist-in-residency with jeweller Monica Vinader, Harry Cory Wright invites you to be a part of his art installation –  Six Hundred Pieces of Landscape at The Golden Shed.

Sheds are places where people are creative, where they make things and have great ideas. They are also a place of sanctuary, somewhere to relax and escape. Step inside the Golden Shed and you will find six hundred small, simple, painted wooden pieces, interspersed with landscape photographs, laid out randomly on shelves.

Take your time, think about your favourite views, gather some pieces and see what happens when you arrange them on a coloured backboard. And with a specially commissioned original soundtrack by artist Alex Howard, drawing on sounds, places and atmospheres from across the local landscape, you’ll be surrounded by inspiration.

Once you’ve created your artwork(s), you can choose whether or not to buy a bespoke print of your work to take home with you.Bookings are for one hour, either just for you or bring up to six people. No artistic skills are needed to enjoy and create something special in the Golden Shed. This event is most suitable for adults, however supervised children are welcome.

Pre-booking is essential.

Please arrive via the South Gates ( NR23 1RU) and head to Longlands which is signposted to your left once through the gates.
