Block printing workshop with Sue Welfare

Unlock the creativity at your fingertips.

Join us for a creative day exploring the art of block printing on fabric and paper.

We’ll start by working with a selection of commercial blocks, learning inking and printing techniques to create beautiful, custom wrapping paper. As the day progresses, we’ll move on to printing on fabric.

You’ll also have the chance to design and carve your own printing block, which you can take home and use again and again. Along the way, we’ll explore simple cutting techniques, what works well as a pattern and printing simple repeat patterns.

Any questions, please contact Sue directly at sue.welfare@gmail.com

Whether you’re new to block printing or looking to expand your creative skills, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to experiment and create something truly unique.

All materials are provided but if you would like to bring anything specific to print on (paper or natural fabrics like cotton), you are very welcome. If you have ideas you’d like to develop please bring along sketches. We will be using inks, so we recommend coming in old clothes or bring an apron in case of spillages.

Whether you’re new to block printing or looking to expand your creative skills, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to experiment and create something truly unique.
