Book signing with Andy Bloomfield

Join our Senior Nature Reserve Warden, Andy Bloomfield as he joins us in the Giftshop, signing copies of his new book Wetland Wings – The History of Holkham Marsh and it’s birds. 

Published this summer, this beautifully illustrated hardback book offers a unique exploration of one of Britain’s most celebrated coastal landscapes and the remarkable birdlife it supports. Combining Andy’s photography, natural history and personal reflection, Wetland Wings captures the story of Holkham’s marshes, their birds and the people who have helped shape their future. From breeding Lapwings, Marsh Harriers and Bitterns to climate-driven newcomers such as Spoonbills, Cattle Egrets, Great White Egrets and Little Egrets, alongside visiting White-tailed Eagles and the thousands of wintering geese that arrive each year, the book celebrates the rich diversity of birdlife that has long made Holkham one of Britain’s most exciting wetland landscapes.

“Holkham’s marshes have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and over the past four decades I’ve had the privilege of watching both birds and the landscape change in remarkable ways. Through Wetland Wings, I wanted to share that story and celebrate the wildlife, people and conservation efforts that make this place so special. While researching the book, I often found myself immersed in reference material more than 100 years old, and I hope future generations will still be reading and learning from this book a century from now.”

Andy will be signing copies of his new book on Sunday 16th August from 11am-4pm as well as  Saturday 7th  November from 11am-1pm. He will also be meeting readers and signing books at Holkham’s Christmas Market on Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December.
