Holkham Park and Attractions
We welcome dogs with open arms here at Holkham, not only have you got acres of parkland to explore with your canine companions, we’ve some designated walking routes and even a nature trail to keep you on your toes. However, we kindly request that they are kept on leads at all times whilst in the park so as not to disturb the wildlife. Holkham is also a working estate, so be sure to keep an eye out for slow-moving vehicles on the roads.
Dogs on leads are most welcome inside the Walled Garden, Holkham Stories Experience, Courtyard Gift Shop, Visitor Reception and in the seating area of the Courtyard Café. Guide dogs only are permitted inside Holkham Hall. Dogs are not permitted inside the Woodland Play Area, but you’ll find log seating and refreshments just outside the gate. Our Cycle Hire centre also has a number of dog-friendly trailers.
Holkham Beach and The Lookout
A favourite spot amongst dog walkers. We welcome dogs on the beach and ask that they are kept under close control or on the lead. Please be sure to clean up after your dog, and be mindful of the fact this special place is a national nature reserve. Please give cordoned areas a wide berth as they are positioned to protect ground-nesting birds that are easily disturbed. Equally, please keep dogs under close control in the pine woods.
Dogs are most welcome inside The Lookout, so much so that dog bowls were integrated into the design of the drinking water fountain.
Wells Beach and Beach Café
Dogs are welcome on part of Wells Beach, access is through the pine woods. Please avoid the dog-free zone to the east and again, be mindful of ground-nesting birds, cordoned areas, and seals.
Wells Beach Café is one of the most dog-friendly cafés in north Norfolk, welcoming dogs inside and out. You’ll find a range of canine accessories, as well as a delicious range of doggy ice cream.
The Victoria Inn
Holkham’s dog-friendly hotel, welcoming four-legged friends in all communal areas and within the ten bedrooms situated inside The Victoria itself. Dogs are even given their own bed for the night, along with a special treat on us.
Our holiday park in Wells-next-the-Sea welcomes dogs in both a range of static caravans and lodges, as well as on the touring park. Additional charges may apply. Please be sure to keep your dog on a lead in the park and clean up using the bins provided.
