The charming Temple is in an idyllic setting within Holkham park, tucked away in the woods near to the south lawn, creating a special setting for your ceremony or reception. The Temple was the first building to be erected in Holkham park between 1730 and 1735, before the hall itself was built. The Doric-style design was taken from an Italian book of classical patterns. Behind the magnificent portico is a large central room with an octagonal dome and a smaller chamber on either side.
Ceremonies can take place inside for up to twenty five guests, with candlelight adding to the romantic atmosphere, or outside under the portico for larger numbers.
