Festive Block printing workshop with Sue Welfare
Unlock the creativity at your fingertips
Join us for a relaxed and festive day exploring the art of block printing. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on your skills, this hands-on workshop is a chance to slow down, get creative and take home your festive craft.
We’ll begin with a range of ready-made blocks and guide you through inking and printing techniques to design your own beautiful wrapping paper, gift tags and cards. Later in the day, we’ll move on to printing on fabric using tote bags and tea towels.
You’ll also have the chance to design and carve your own printing block, learning what makes a strong pattern and how to create simple repeats. And the best bit? You’ll take your carved block home to use again and again!
All materials are provided but if you would like to bring anything specific to print on (paper or natural fabrics like cotton), you are very welcome. If you have ideas you’d like to develop please bring along sketches. We will be using inks, so we recommend coming in old clothes or bring an apron in case of spillages.
Whether you’re new to block printing or looking to expand your creative skills, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to experiment and create something truly unique.
