Food We Produce
The farm grows feed wheat on 400 hectares of land and approximately 4000 tonnes is harvested which is sold onto the feed market. Three varieties are selected for their characteristics that work best with the conditions and lighter land: Barrell, Gravity and Kerrin, the first variety is a soft wheat, which ends up in the food chain for biscuit-making. The remaining two are hard wheat which is used for animal feed. All of the crop is sold on the open market. We are also growing a milling variety, Crusoe, which is used in bread making.
