Outdoor Theatre – Five Children and It
Head to Holkham’s Lady Elizabeth Wing Courtyard this summer as talented performers take to the stage!
Touring theatre company This Is My Theatre will be performing a stage adaptation of Edith Nesbitt’s classic children’s novel, Five Children and It.
The production will feature live music and puppetry throughout — children and adults alike will love this ever-popular story reimagined for the stage.
The story
The five children – Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother, known as the Lamb – are playing in a gravel pit one morning when they uncover a rather grumpy and sometimes tricky Psammead, a sand-fairy with the ability to grant wishes. Join them on their adventures as they learn what it is to be careful what you wish for!

‘Five Children and It’ was written by Edith Nesbit, adapted by Ethan Taylor, directed by Chloe Bond and features music by Simon Stallard.
Please arrive via the north gates using the postcode NR23 1RH and proceed to the car park. Our parking team will be on hand to direct you. The performance begins at 6.15pm and lasts for approximately 2 hours. The courtyard will be open from 5:15pm.
Low backed seating and rugs/picnic blankets are permitted at the performance. Please come prepared for all weathers! Umbrellas will not be permitted unless you are on the back row.
Sorry, no dogs are permitted, except assistance dogs. We ask that dogs are not left in vehicles during the performance.
