Development of redundant agricultural buildings

Planning & Development

Redundant Barns

Many of the estate’s former agricultural barns and outbuildings that once housed carts and tractors are now too small for modern machinery and many of these lie empty. The estate has compiled a planning and development strategy which identifies viable options for their re-use, redevelopment or possible disposal.

Where viable, preference will be given to commercial use in order to generate employment locally but where commercial use is not viable then residential consent will be sought. The first of these projects was the award-winning development Manor Farm Barns in Wells-next-the-Sea.
