Our Tenants & Occupiers
Leith House Orchards
Leith House Orchards began in 1976 when my father, Garry Maufe, who became a Holkham tenant in 1947, planted the first plum trees on 5.5 hectares of the farm. The field was heavy clay and he had found it difficult to cultivate. Since then it has grown into a unique orchard boasting over 35 varieties of plums, with almost three thousand trees. We have customers that come from afar afield as Yorkshire and are open every day for 8 weeks (mid July–mid Sept) as long as we have ripe plums. All plums are hand picked on the day of sale and are sold from our farm stall in the orchard.
