The Marble Hall

The Marble Hall was built in the mid eighteenth century and its grandeur still captures the imagination to this day. It is perhaps the most dramatic entrance hall in all of England. The inspiration for this magnificent feat of architecture is based on a Roman temple and the design of the ceiling, which rises to a height of over fifty feet, is taken from the Pantheon in Rome. The style has been brought together faultlessly and made all the more splendid by the use of pink Staffordshire alabaster for the splendid columns and the facing of the lower walls. The classical statues and carved reliefs add to the Marble Hall’s grandeur.

Light and airy, the Marble Hall provides a stunning backdrop for a wedding or civil partnership. It is a large space and can comfortably seat 142 guests on the ground floor and 170 guests if the side balconies, with their elegant wrought iron balustrades, are used. This leaves ample space at the foot of the stairs for the bride and groom and provides a perfect photo opportunity.
