The charming Temple is in an idyllic setting in Holkham park, tucked away in the woods near to the south lawn, creating a special setting for your wedding reception or party. The Temple was the first building to be erected in Holkham park and was built between 1730 and 1735, before prior to the completion of the hall itself in 1764 . The Doric style design was taken from an Italian book of classical patterns. Behind the magnificent portico is a large central room with an octagonal dome and a smaller room on either side.
Receptions can take place inside for up to twenty five guests, with candlelight adding to the romantic atmosphere, or outside under the portico with a canopy or marquee for larger numbers.
