The North Dining Room
The North Dining Room is a more intimate state room for a wedding reception and can accommodate up to 50 guests for a drinks party or canapé reception. Features include a spectacular domed ceiling and classical busts of Roman emperors. The elegant chimneypieces are carved in white marble and Sicilian jasper, with the central plaques representing scenes from Aesop’s Fables. The clean plaster walls and high, light ceiling create a sense of space and the setting provides a unique backdrop for your wedding photographs. Until 1939 and the advent of World War Two, dinner was served each evening in this room with the men in white tie and the ladies in long gowns.
