Learning and Engagement Gardener
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Engagement Gardener.
• Based in the walled garden you will work alongside local schools with a programme of delivering hands-on horticultural experience to school pupils within a range of age groups.
• You will work closely alongside the large group of walled garden volunteers directing their day to day activities.
• You will interact with visitors answering questions and sharing your passion for plants making their visit a memorable experience.
• This is very much a hands-on position and you will be involved in all aspects of garden maintenance and improvement including: propagation, soil cultivation, pruning and training, lawn care, viticulture, fruit and vegetables, weeding, watering and all other gardening tasks.
The post is 39 hours a week, usually Monday – Friday although some occasional weekend work may be required during busy visitor periods. Good horticultural knowledge is essential.
Hourly rate: Over 21 £9.06, 18-20 £6.42 and under 18 years £5.18
