On Sunday 24th June, Holkham played host to the finale of Lionel Richie’s UK summer tour which saw him visiting iconic venues across the country. The concert took place in the south park at Holkham with the Palladian-style hall and magnificent fountain providing a spectacular backdrop. Fans were able to enjoy their own picnics whilst watching the performance and enjoyong a day of brilliant sunshine.

Special guest, Irish singer-songwriter, Shane Filan, opened the show in great fashion, entertaining and warming up the crowds with a varied playlist, which included favourite Westlife songs, taking the audience back to the days when he was front man and one of the lead singers of the popular boy band.

The second half of the concert saw Lionel Richie take to the stage. Fans were treated to a fantastic selection of hits from his extensive and much-loved repertoire spanning decades, all the way from the Commodores to the present day. Lionel Richie’s shows are world renowned for their party atmosphere and he certainly brought the party to Norfolk, with approximately 11,000 concertgoers on their feet enjoying and singing along to timeless mega-hits such as ‘Hello’, ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ and ‘All Night Long’.
