Half Day Wildlife Trek

Fridays 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th September
8am-12.30pm

During this extensive guided trek around the Holkham National Nature Reserve, you will get a fantastic insight into the rare, and often unique, flora and fauna that live within its diverse range of habitats.

Have you ever wondered how a Beewolf devours its prey? Would you like to experience the exquisite beauty of our native Bee Orchids? Maybe you would like to come face to face with a Natterjack Toad and find out why they make their homes here on the Holkham NNR? Or is it the splendour of the Spoonbill – we have the UK’s only breeding colony of the species – that piques your interest?

Whatever your particular wildlife interest, we guarantee that you will come away from this experience with some fantastic sightings and deeper understanding of the wonderful north Norfolk coast.

As well as showing you some of our amazing specialist species, our guide will teach you about the history of the reserve, our conservation philosophy and our environmental plans for the future. Having explored the saltmarsh, sand dunes, pinewoods, scrub and grazing marsh the group will enjoy a well-earned sandwich and coffee at The Lookout.

Tickets: £25. Includes sandwich, coffee and parking. To book online click the button below, or telephone our ticket office on 01328 713111.

Wear clothing suitable for weather conditions and off-road walking. Bring binoculars and cameras. A scope will be provided by the guide and binoculars can be borrowed. Field guides are provided. Meet outside The Lookout 10 minutes before the start of the trek.
