Holkham’s Twixmas Jaunts and Jollies

The days between Christmas and New Year can often pass in a blur of leftovers, TV repeats and too many chocolates. Why not do something more memorable this Twixmas? At Holkham, we have a whole host of activities and events to interest the whole family, blow away those Christmas cobwebs and get you feeling ready for 2022.

In Conversation with Lady Glenconner

ITV News Anglia’s David Whiteley will be in conversation with Lady Glenconner on 27th December, discussing her life and novel, ‘A Haunting at Holkham’. Bracing walks on the beach

Time on the beach makes many of us feel reflective, and what better time than now, as the year comes to an end? Enjoy a seaside wander with your family, friends, dog or simply your own thoughts. Some of you might even brave a very cold dip!

The Lookout and Beach Cafe will both be open daily (except Christmas Day) from 10-4, so you can stock up on snacks before your walk or warm up afterwards with a lovely cuppa or hot chocolate and a sausage roll.

Blow away some cobwebs at Holkham Park

Speed around the Park by bringing your bike or renting one from our Cycle Hire team. Open from 10am until 3pm, with the last hire at 1pm, the team will have you racing off in no time! There’s plenty of routes to enjoy.

Enjoy Holkham by foot

Walk or run around the expansive grounds at Holkham. Enjoy nature trails, wanders around the lake, jogs through the park or a slow mooch in front of the Hall. You can bring your dog, too, but please keep him or her on a lead.

In the Courtyard

Our Gift Shop and Courtyard Cafe will be open daily throughout Twixmas and up until 3rd January, so you can enjoy a bite to eat and treat yourself! With soups, sandwiches, sausage rolls and sweet treats - including vegan and gluten free options - there’s plenty to tempt you in the cafe, and even more in the shop.

Woodland Play Area

Keep the kids entertained at our Woodland Play Area! With climbing frames, bridges, walkways and treehouses, plus zip lines, it’s the perfect place for a post-Christmas adventure!

Indulge at The Victoria

If Christmas hasn’t left you absolutely stuffed, you can enjoy beautifully cooked local produce at The Vic. Gather friends or family for another festive meal or enjoy a romantic dinner by the roaring fire.

Please note, during Twixmas, The Victoria will be open to non-residents from 12 noon on 27th December until 2:30pm on 31st December. Book ahead to ensure you get a table by calling 01328 711008.
