AWARDS

Director of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Estates Director at Holkham, David Horton Fawkes, has been awarded the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards ‘Director of the Year’.

The awards, held on 7th November 2013 at the Norfolk Showground, are a celebration of the region’s best businesses and individuals and more than 300 firms entered this year’s awards, which is a record number of entrants and a total of 36 finalists competing for the 12 categories.

The ‘Director of the Year’ category was sponsored by New Anglia, Local Enterprise partnership for Norfolk and Suffolk www.newanglia.co.uk. The award aims to recognise the hard work, creativity and innovation of Norfolk’s business leaders, with the judges looking for someone who has not only excelled in the role, but someone who has brought innovation to his or her industry, the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, or to a significant sector of the community.

David commented, “I am delighted to receive this award but it’s a team effort at Holkham and I have only been able to make a difference because I have a great Board of Directors and fantastic colleagues.”

Two Titles in 2012 Tourism Awards for Holkham

We were delighted to be announced as the winner of two categories in the recent EDP Tourism Awards which is a great endorsement of all that happens at Holkham and the hard work of everyone involved in showcasing everything we do here from exhibitions to adding to the local economy.

In the Best Large Visitor Attraction, sponsored by Norfolk Tourist Attractions Association, Holkham took the title for the over 50,000 visitor section and judges commented they were impressed by the wide range of exhibits and events which take place on the estate.

In the Business Impact Award, sponsored by Hansells Solicitors, Holkham had demonstrated how it makes a major contribution to the local economy by attracting visitors to events, conferences, business trips and many other activities. The judges took all this into account to name Holkham as the winner and said they had noted the commitment to place Holkham on the regional tourist map.
