| Introduction | ROUND “SPOON” PAINT BRUSHES They are circular with a hollow in the centre that acts as a spoon when dipped into paint. The bristle is the best Chinese pig bristle and is held in place by four concentric metal bands which can be removed as the brush gets shorter over time, thereby allowing ‘five lives’. There are four concentric slices of cork within the "hole" too so these should be removed, using a corkscrew, one at a time, with the metal bands. Available in 20mm, 25mm, 30mm sizes for painting windows; or 35mm, 40mm, 45mm for painting larger areas. Our own painters and outside
contractors all prefer to use these brushes with Holkham Linseed Paints
over and above the more common flat English paint brushes. The
reasons being they hold more paint, they work it in better and the bristles
work well with the particular consistency of the paint. Modern brushes with synthetic bristles will not give the same smooth finish to the paint, as they are not able to stretch the paint out sufficiently.
