Apply Shellac around rebates before glazing - this prevents putty from drying out and also prevents linseed oil from affecting silicon seals on double glazing units.

An exterior green wooden gate painted with a modern proprietary paint and proprietary knotting solution in the summer of 1998. The knots have "popped" as the resin escapes.
