The Victoria Hotel
The Victoria Hotel is located on the coast road, near the north gate entrance
to Holkham Hall.It is a 10-minute walk away from the Estate's golden, sandy beach
and is perfectly placed for discovering the county's windswept coastline,
seaside towns and villages.
Coke of Norfolk, the great agriculturalist, built the hotel in 1838, the year
of Victoria's accession to the throne. After being leased out for many years, it
was taken back into Estate ownership in 2001 and extensively refurbished by
Viscount and Viscountess Coke. The hotel is now renowned for its relaxed,
colonial feel, with furniture from Rajasthan and individually designed rooms,
which reflect local and Victorian themes.
Whether you want to enjoy a long, cool drink on the terrace after a day on
the beach, or get comfy infront of a roaring log fire in the winter, your visit
to The Victoria is sure to be a memorable one. We even have three dog-friendly
rooms, if you want to holiday with your favourite pet.
The Victoria's AA Two Rosette restaurant offers an innovative menu, featuring
wild game and beef from the Estate, and seafood such as Thornham oysters from
the coast. Our modern yet traditional food has always been a big hit with both
locals and visitors alike.
The hotel has a well-priced global wine list and serves a selection of Adnams
real ales, such as Adnams Bitter, Explorer and Broadside brewed locally.
Lunch is served from 12noon every day, with last orders at 2.30pm weekdays and 3pm at weekends. Dinner is available at 6.30pm every evening, with last orders at 9pm. Booking is recommended.
