Holkham beach is described by many as the most beautiful beach in England. The Estate extends to the bustling coastal town of Wells-Next-The Sea which has grown from a small isolated fishing community into a thriving port which attracts both tourists and local fishermen.

For many the romantic Holiday Lodges offer a special experience. Each lodge is set in an historic folly and situated in a remote corner of the Estate. Cuckoo Lodge is so isolated that it relies on its own generator tucked away in the garden. Each lodge is stylishly interior-designed, comes with its own unique history and offers all modern comforts.They are an idyllic hideaway but are well equipped and can be serviced every day by staff from The Victoria Hotel. Dogs are welcome if well behaved and closely supervised.

The Triumphal Arch
The Triumphal Arch once marked the original south entrance to Holkham Park. Designed by William Kent and built in about 1748, it has been refurbished to provide two separate areas of accommodation.
The West Arch has its own kitchen with a flagstone floor and a stone, spiral staircase leading to the top floor, where you will find an expansive room with a double bed, a roll-top bath and stunning views down the South avenue of the park.
The East Arch features a sitting room and small kitchen downstairs, with a staircase leading up to a double bedroom and a roll-top bath.

Palmer's Lodge
Palmer's Lodge is an attractive and unusual two-bedroom lodge situated on a private road within the historic Holkham Park, which has been home to generations of the Earls of Leicester for nearly 300 years.
Designed by Samual Wyatt and built in 1799, the lodge once marked the Park boundary. For 150 years, Palmer’s Lodge was lived in by Estate workers, such as gamekeepers and woodsmen, until 1949, when it became somewhat dilapidated.
In 1990, the present Lord Leicester embarked on a six-year restoration of the property, after which it was used for lunch for shooting parties on the Estate. In 2003, it was transformed again and further renovated as a secluded holiday destination.
Palmer’s Lodge sleeps up to six and has its own kitchen, dining room and a sitting room, complete with an open log fire.

Cuckoo Lodge
Cuckoo Lodge is situated in a tranquil spot at the end of a winding track on the edge of a wood just outside the Park on the sweeping, 25,000-acre Holkham Estate.
It was built in the 1860s and has over the years, been occupied by gamekeepers working for the Estate. The lodge is ideal for families as it has a double bedroom and a twin-bedded room. Cuckoo Lodge also has a handmade wooden kitchen with an Aga, an open-plan sitting room, a dining room and an extensive garden.

Dairy Farmhouse
A beautifully refurbished farmhouse in the quiet coastal village of Burnham Overy Staithe,
The farmhouse sleeps 14 and has breathtaking views over the salt marshes towards the sea and is just a short walk from the pretty harbour. The house has many features: including a garden, double garage, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer, an Aga, plus the luxury of two dishwashers.

The Victoria Hotel
The internationally acclaimed Victoria Hotel is located on the coast road, near the north gate entrance to Holkham Hall.
A 10-minute walk away from the Estate's golden, sandy beach, The Victoria is perfectly placed for discovering the county's windswept coastline, seaside towns and villages.
Coke of Norfolk, the great agriculturalist, built the hotel in1838, the year of Victoria's accession to the throne. After being leased out for many years, it was taken back into Estate ownership in 2001 and extensively refurbished by Viscount and Viscountess Coke. The hotel is now renowned for its relaxed, colonial feel, with furniture from Rajasthan and individually designed rooms, which reflect local and Victorian themes.
Whether you want to enjoy a long, cool drink on the terrace after a day on the beach, or curl up on the velvet sofas in front of a roaring log fire in the winter, your visit to The Victoria is sure to be a memorable one
The Victoria's AA Two Rosette restaurant offers an innovative menu, featuring wild game and beef from the Estate, and seafood such as Thornham oysters from the coast. Our modern yet traditional food has always been a big hit with both locals and visitors alike.
The hotel has a well-priced global wine list and is proud to serve well-conditioned real ales, such as Adnams Best and the local Woodforde's Wherry, brewed from barley grown on Holkham Estate.
Lunch is served from 12noon every day, with last orders at 2.30pm. Dinner starts at 7pm every evening, with last orders at 9.30pm. Booking is essential.

Overlooking a pretty, leafy Georgian square in the bustling seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, The Globe Inn provides a comfortable, affordable and family-friendly environment. Accredited with 4 stars and a Silver Award by Enjoy England, it is a great base for a break, or an ideal spot for a pint of local beer and some simple, home-cooked food.
There is a sun-filled courtyard in which to enjoy your summer drinks, restful lunch or evening meal. As a resident, it is the perfect spot to read your morning paper over breakfast.
The Globe Inn offers modern British pub food that reflects the area where its chefs live and work. In early summer, enjoy the tenderest asparagus and sweet early strawberries, the first sea bass of the year, spring lamb and vegetables, then tasty crab, samphire and the freshest mackerel straight out of the sea. While in autumn, try sea trout and local mussels. As autumn turns to winter, take comfort in warming winter food of wild game from Holkham Estate, roasted winter root vegetables and jugs of richly stocked gravy.
The Globe's kitchen also caters for little appetites, making homemade dishes such as little fish and chips and baked pasta. Any special dietary requirements can be accommodated given some notice. There is also a small dining room, which is available for private parties of up to 16.
We open daily for breakfast for non-residents from 9am to 11am, lunchtime from 12noon to 2.30pm and food is served in the evenings from 7pm until 9pm, (6pm high season). In addition to the menu and the daily changing specials, The Globe also offers a Sunday roast and often runs themed menu nights. The Inn has quickly become known for its Steak Night every Wednesday, when diners can choose from Holkham Estate-reared rump, sirloin for just £9.95 or rib-eye for £11.95.

Pinewoods Holiday Park is a four-star caravan park set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at Wells-next-the-Sea, two miles east of Holkham.
Nestling beside a stunning sandy beach, complete with its own set of colourful beach huts, the Park is surrounded by a strip of mature pine trees, a boating lake and sand dunes. Whether you are paddling in the sea, enjoying a picnic on the dunes, or just sitting on the beach listening to a summer breeze gently touching the rigging of moored yachts, there is always something relaxing to do.
