A unique line up of chart topping acts in the music world and a legendary rock band attracted a large audience for Holkham's open air concerts in 2007.

On the first night, Friday 31st August, chart topping Girls Aloud were joined by Shayne Ward and Jamelia.

Girls Aloud hit the number one slot in the charts with their duet with the Sugababes, 'Walk this Way' produced for Comic Relief. The all-girl group shot to fame in 2002 and have a record for Top 10 and Top 5 singles which is unmatched by any other girl group including the Spice Girls.

Special guests were Irish heart-throb Shayne Ward, who won the X Factor, after a reputed 10.8 million vote in the final, and singer songwriter Jamelia, who made a big comeback after a two year absence to have and bring up her second daughter. She recently released her new single 'No More'.

On the second night, Saturday 1st September, the crowds rocked the night away with the legendary rock band Status Quo.

Status Quo hold the record for having more hit singles than any other international or British band in history. The band was listed by the UK Festival Awards as Best Festival Feel Good Act and had the audience on their feet. The band is well known for its 'rock 'til you drop' performances around the country.

Supporting Status Quo were Macara who, although newcomers to the rock scene, were hailed by the rock critic of the Birmingham Mail as "set to be huge in hard rock circles thanks to the lung bustin' vocals of front woman Laura Macara."

Both evenings ended with a spectacular firework display which lit up the North Norfolk skies, reflecting in the lake alongside Holkham Hall.

At the launch of the concerts Viscount Coke commented " This year's concerts follow the success of the last year's, when a very different line up attracted the crowds with international opera star José Carreras and rhythm and blues king, Jools Holland. Lord Coke said: "We are thrilled to have such high profile names coming to Holkham this year. It is a very different line up to last year but we believe the contrast of the two evenings will appeal to a wide range of people and ages. The house provides a great backdrop and the park a natural amphitheatre so this all adds to the atmosphere and a great night out whether you picnic in style or purely come to rock the night away."
