Coach Access
The main entrance for the public, cars and small coaches to Holkham Park, the Hall and other attractions, is via the north gates of the Estate. For visiting coach parties, due to height and width restrictions, it is important that coaches should enter the Park via the south gates.
The south gates are 3m 48cm wide and there are no height restrictions. The gates are automated and pre-booked coaches will be issued in advance with an authorisation code to enter. An intercom system at the gates operates for coaches that are not pre-booked.
Access to the south gates if travelling from the Fakenham direction:
At Fakenham take the B1105 signposted Wells-next-the-Sea. This is located off the A148 (Fakenham to Cromer road), where brown tourist signs indicate the route to Holkham Hall. Travel approximately seven miles from Fakenham and look our for a small industrial complex either side of the road, with a large grain store belonging to ABN Walsingham on the left. Leaving the industrial estate behind you, approx 400 yards further, there is a crossroads with Wighton village signed to the right. There is also an AA sign indicating 'Holkham Hall Coaches Only'. This minor road is unclassified, winding and narrow at times. Follow it for approximately two and a half miles. At the next crossroads go straight over, past the crescent of houses on your right and up to the gatehouses marking the south gates entrance. Turn right in to Holkham Park. Follow the Avenue up to the Obelisk and then drop down over the cattle grid into the Deer Park.
