We continue to support charities by raising money in a variety of ways. Here is a selection of some of our recent achievements:

• 20th July 2010 - A team of 11 ladies represented Holkham Estate in Cancer Research UK's "Race for Life" at Houghton Hall, running in memory of Jane Bloomfield a former work colleague who sadly died this year. Their efforts were rewarded with over £2000 in sponsorship.
• May 2010 - Various businesses at Holkham have lent their support and sponsored Wells Carnival for another year. 
• 18th February - The Globe Inn held a quiz night in support of the Alzheimer's Society which raised £160.
• February 2010 - We have sponsored a local 'Summer Ball', now in it's 5th year Funds are being raised in aid of Wells Primary School and St Nicholas Church, Wells.
• January 2010 - The Globe Inn made a donation to assist 'Poetry-next-the-Sea', a small festival in Wells,which will involve seven local primary schools in a recitation competition.
• Shooting at Holkham for the 2010 season has been donated as auction lots to The Wild Trout Trust, Game Conservancy and British Association of Shooting and Conservation.
• £180 generated from pigeon shooting permits has been made to the Game Conservancy.
• October 2009 - Homes for Wells raised an impressive £2,700 with their Auction of Promises. Holkham donated two auction lots - a stalking day with our deerkeeper and a private guided tour of Holkham Hall.
• In early December 2009 - The estate sponsored Wells Christmas Tide with their annual community event.
• In 2009 we donated 54 sets of family tickets to visit the attractions at Holkham to local schools and charities to assist with their fundraising.
• In 2009 our deerkeeper gave two evening talks to the British Legion and the Burnham Market Ladies Club.
• In 2009 and in 2010 the estate has supported the British Deer Society's charity auction, offering a day's deer stalking with accommodation at The Globe Inn.
