1950s Fun, Fashion and Food

The event to be at this year as Holkham and Black Knight Historical celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The hall, Bygones Museum and courtyard will be alive with activities and events inspired by the 1950s.

See the hall dressed for the occasion and the dining room laid out for a special Jubilee tea.

Visit the old Kitchen where the cooks will be preparing food of the 1950s from austerity through to celebrations. Watch out for the arrival of Audrey Hepburn, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe by classic car and motorbike. We've invited them to be guest models for our fashion show in the hall - this will be the film stars official launch in the public eye!

We have live rock and roll music, comedy 'Max Miller style', adult and children's games, activities and crafts. With 1950s inspired refreshments and plenty of good old fashioned fun, it's going to be a true party atmosphere!

"Holkham Ahoy" Children's Workshops

10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm

Ahoy there! Join in our special flotilla workshop which, inspired by the Queen’s 1,000 boat flotilla on the Thames, is a chance to get involved in helping to build Holkham's very own royal flotilla to be floated on the lake on the last day of our celebrations.

Two workshops will be running on all three days.

Suitable for ages 5-16 years £15 per session.

Holkham Hall is normally closed on a Tuesday, but to ensure we celebrate the Jubilee in true style, the Hall will open on Tuesday 5th June from 12noon-4pm.
