Holkham Emerald is a partnership between the Holkham Estate and Emerald Crops Limited. It was set up in late 2008 to grow potatoes, carrots and parsnips on the estate using the land and water of Holkham and the marketing and growing expertise of Emerald Crops.

In 2009 350 acres of potatoes were grown and this has expanded to 550 acres. Of this, 300 acres are salad potatoes which are supplied to specialist markets in the UK and Europe. The rest is produce for the home market and ends up in major supermarkets. Carrot acreage is generally 250 acres annually, some of which is covered with straw for harvesting over winter. Our carrots enter the supermarket supply chain through our partners.

A small acreage of parsnips are grown, about 75 acres annually, which are lifted in the winter and mostly sent to local processors.
