July 2010 - Great British Pub Awards hosted by the Morning Advertiser - The Globe has been highly recommended in the category of "Best Turnaround Pub of the Year".
101 Holidays, the travel inspiration website, asked 50 leading travel writers and editors to each nominate a personal favourite hotel or B & B where they would like to stay. Ginny Light, Travel Editor at Times Online, chose the Globe Inn. Click here to read her review.

"Staff extremely attentive and friendly – nothing is too much, they all happily supplied our daughter (2 ½ years old) with apple juice and milk whenever asked. We mainly had contact with bar and restaurant staff and every single one of them deserves a medal for customer service. This is our first visit to North Norfolk and we are addicted. We feel blessed to have discovered such a beautiful place and would come back again tomorrow if we could. The Globe Inn is so child friendly it’s a revelation. I look forward to future holidays here. Thank you – you’ve restored my faith in customer service and holidays in the UK!!! Amazing."
Mr and Mrs Park
"Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay – much better than last year. Suggest a black out blind on the small window between the bedroom and bathroom."
Claire Edwards
Response from The Globe - A black out blind for this window has been ordered – thanks for your suggestion.
"Competence and care from young staff excellent – nothing seemed too much bother – impressive. More shelf space particularly in the bathroom would be useful."
Jenny Prideaux
Response from The Globe - When the summer season is over I will look at putting some additional shelving into the bathroom – thanks for your suggestion. "Outstanding service culture! Well done, continue the “Feel Good” factor."
Mr and Mrs Barlow "All staff were absolutely lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Even when the Inn was really busy they all maintained a happy and welcoming environment. Bar staff were really friendly and didn't mind answering questions and sharing information about the local area, giving directions, suggestions etc. The room was perfect and cleaned to a very high standard. It was lovely when after the first night whoever cleaned the room noticed that we had put the kettle on the floor so that it would reach the plug and supplied us with an extender lead. Could there be another option on the menu for vegetarians so that there is a choice?"
Mrs Fowles and Family
Response from The Globe - Thank you for your comments. It is a real boost to the staff to receive such praise. The menu is being redone to include a better choice for vegetarians. "Would be hard to find anything to complain about. All staff we came into contact with deserve praise. Glad we found you."
Mr and Mrs Bolodler "Lovely room, breakfast fantastic, staff kind. Hotel very clean. All very nice. Thank you. A dedicated little reception would be a suggestion otherwise it has been a lovely stay."
Mrs Heron
Response from The Globe - We are aware of the need to create a designated reception area and will be looking into this when the busy season ends. "We make a special point of remembering great places to stay and this will be one of them! We love the special touches: lovely toiletries, coffee and biscuits, sweets, love the clean crispness of the rooms. Well done to all."
Mr and Mrs Aivey "Very thoughtful to have a high chair ready for our baby at breakfast. We suggest that staff should take their breaks somewhere other than below Room 1 bathroom window. It was hot weather so the windows were open and we could hear every word the staff were saying – entertaining for us but other guests may not appreciate it!!!"
Mrs Gurney
Response from The Globe - I fear to think what you over heard!! We will have a think about where we could provide an alternative area for the staff to take a break outside. In the meantime they have been asked to keep very quiet so as not to disturb guests. We were sceptical having only seen the web site, but are truly delighted with our stay. Would very much recommend the Globe Inn – thank you.
Mr Fellows "We have had a fantastically relaxing stay in your fab Inn – thank you! Lovely staff, great room, relaxed and welcoming ambiance. We are a family with a 7 year old who was as welcome as any other guest. Perfect!"
Mrs O’Dell
"We just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay. Great bed and breakfast, lovely food and drink and friendly staff. We will definitely recommend you to friends and family."

Our only complaint, no log fire on one of the nights in the bar!” Mr and Mrs Edge – March 2010
Response from The Globe - Delighted to learn you enjoyed your stay with us again. Apologies for the
fire not being lit on, I believe, your last night with us. We were having the bar floors cleaned and sealed
that night and the staff on duty thought it should be left off prior to this work being done. It won’t happen
again!
“Fantastic food. We have had a wonderful relaxing break in a lovely room and surroundings.”
Mr and Mrs Ring
“A lovely peaceful and quiet place to recharge the batteries. Thank you.”
Judith Robinson
“Everything is very good. In fact the service is so excellent that we will be coming again for New Year and we will be recommending The Globe Inn to all of our friends and family! Thank you”
Lucy, Leo and Emily Davies
“Our greeting and information on arrival was excellent. Have ticked the excellent boxes and it really
Is excellent. Hope to return”
Mr and Mrs Morris
“Gorgeous food both evening meal and breakfast. Apologies for any dog footprints to cleaners”
Mr and Mrs Salter
“We were both impressed by the friendly helpful staff. The food was very good, both at breakfast and our 3 course evening meal. We also loved the decor and style of our room, and the common areas. All in all an excellent stay and we would like to return soon. One small point for the bedroom was that there was no mirror close to where you plug in the hairdryer for my partner to be able to do her hair. Fruit salads were a lovely touch in the room – a real trip down memory lane!”
Mr K Wallace
Response from The Globe - Pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and I have a mirror on order to be hung near the hairdryer socket. We now have blackjacks and fizzy love hearts too!
“All staff made us very welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Keep up the good work”
Mr and Mrs Quirk
“We stay in a lot of small hotels, B&B’s and Inns and we are very impressed with the decor, ambience, the
warm toasty fire downstairs and the staff all wore a smile with ease. 10/10 excellent all round. Only
things noted, there was no TV channel guide in the bedroom and no pen”
G. Harrison
Response from The Globe - Thank you for your comments. There is now a TV Channel guide in each
room folder and Globe Pens are in the process of being ordered. "The selection and quantity of refreshments in the room was good but why not include decaff coffee?"
Mr and Mrs Robb
Response from The Globe - Thank you for this helpful comment - decaff coffee is now on order for the rooms.
