Dairy Farmhouse is an impressive and beautifully designed farmhouse in the quiet coastal village of Burnham Overy Staithe and has outstanding views over the marshes towards the sea. The House is owned by the Holkam Estate and was built by Coke of Norfolk – the first Earl of Leicester of the second creation, in the 1820’s (the Coke family still live in nearby Holkham Hall; the Park and Hall are open to the public on a regular basis and are well worth a visit). Burnham Overy Staithe Harbour is just a couple of minutes walk away, and is perfect if you are keen on sailing or would just like a paddle in the creek. Walking, cycling, bird-watching and field trips are some of the activities that the north Norfolk Coast has to offer, and a visit to the famous Holkham beach is highly recommended. Nearby is the unspoilt market town of Holt, and the very fashionable Burnham Market with its boutique shops and excellent restaurants is within easy reach. There are plenty of options should you wish to dine out not least the two restaurants owned by Holkham – The Victoria and The Globe, in nearby Wells.
