"The Alps to Norfolk, downhill by Velo"

On 6th September a group of amateur but enthusiastic - and some might say foolhardy, cyclists will set out on an epic 10 day 800 mile ride back from Switzerland to Norfolk. On the face of it the course looks downhill, however, we do have to attend to 4,500 metres of climbs, including eight Category 5 slopes (as seen on the Tour de France). This is not a ride for the faint hearted.

The purpose of the trip is to raise vital funds and awareness for Walking with the Wounded a charity which is dedicated to funding the retraining and re-skilling of wounded servicemen and women to assist them in finding new careers outside the military.

To find out more about the ride, Walking with the Wounded and how you can follow the team's progress and support the charity please surf around this webpage. Please do join us in empowering those who have given so much on our behalf.

We are hugely indebted to the generous sponsorship of Tyrrells Crisps who have helped make this ride possible. Many other companies have contributed too, please see our sponsors page. They have enabled us to benefit from a support van, repair man, physio, masseuse, free ferry crossing, route planning and other useful incidentals. All participants are paying for their own accommodation, flights and food and in addition to this have pledged to raise a minimum of £1,000 each for the charity, though some have already raised appreciably more.
